   While today’s message is enjoyable, it doesn’t accurately reflect Senator Menendez’s proposal. He has proposed that banks write down principal on loans in exchange for banks getting a share of the future appreciation in the home’s price. He didn’t propose using funds from suing the banks to do principal reductions, and played no role in negotiating that settlement. Click here to see what he actually proposed:
